Clem Tisdell has been (since early 1989) Professor of Economics (Professor Emeritus since the start of 2004) at The University of Queensland. Prior to that he was Professor of Economics at the University of Newcastle (NSW) and Reader in Economics at the Australian National University. He has published more than 70 books and over 600 articles in academic journals on a wide range of subjects. His work has a huge research impact. This impact was ranked no. 68 compared with that for the 36,497 economists registered globally with RePEc as at June 2013.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and a recipient of the University Medal at The University of New South Wales. Also he is an Honorary Professor of the People’s University of China and an International Economic Advisor to the new GlobalNxt University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
